Political Director

We are looking for a talented, motivated individual to be the Political Director for People for Derek Kilmer. The Political Director will be the face of the campaign and will represent Derek Kilmer to the community.

Job Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment/Training: responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and interns

Community Engagement: responsible for planning campaign events, attending local events, and coordinating with stakeholders

Social Media: working with other staff to develop and implement social media strategy to increase campaign communications

Management: working with staff and consultant team to set goals and execute plans for fundraising, communications, outreach, and press

Skills and Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 cycles of previous campaign experience
  • Experience working with VAN/Votebuilder and NGP
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and motivate a team of volunteers
  • Reliable transportation


This is not a 9-5 position. The Political Director will be required to work evenings and weekends with extensive travel across the 6th District and WA state.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
