State Rep Marko Liias (IDF ’07) makes Congressional bid official

State Rep Marko Liias (IDF ’07) makes Congressional bid official

From Publicola:

He was supposed to declare last week, and State Sen. Steve Hobbs (D-44, Lake Stevens) beat him to the punch with a surprise—to me anyway—announcement.

But state Rep. Marko Liias (D-21, Edmonds), a green liberal in the legislature, announced his candidacy for US congress today with this video. Liias was key to passing this year’s agreement to phase the TransAlta power plant off coal.

Drug reform advocate Rep. Roger Goodman (D-45, Kirkland) and former  state legislator Laura Ruderman have already declared.

The gaggle of Democrats are going after US Rep. Jay Inslee’s seat. Inslee is running for governor.
