IDF ’10 alum, Jamila Johnson, receives Outstanding Young Lawyer Award

Jamila Johnson, an associate in the Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt’s Seattle office, recently received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the King County Bar Association (KCBA). The award presentation was held on June 22, 2011 at The Sheraton Seattle Hotel.

The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award is intended to recognize attorneys who make substantial contributions to the legal profession, the King County Bar Association or the local community, and demonstrate excellence in their legal practice.

Johnson focuses her practice in the area of commercial, tort and real property litigation. She was recently appointed by Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn to the Seattle Women’s Commission where she serves as the Commission co-chair. She also served as the 2010 editor of De Novo, a monthly magazine published by the KCBA Young Lawyers Division. Prior to joining Schwabe, Johnson worked as a freelance writer for various Seattle-based magazines. She holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree from Seattle University.
