I. Manage and Execute

1. Propose, plan, manage and implement community engagement events and initiatives that leverage programming, digital content, and strengthen Cascade Public Media as a community institution

2. Cultivate community partnerships with key organizations

3. Manage trade agreement relationships and contracts with partner organizations

4. Present organizational stakeholders such as Content and Development divisions with community engagement opportunities such as screening events and discussions

5. Evaluate, review and prepare grant proposals and reports in partnership with Development and Finance

6. Reimagine, grow, and manage KCTS 9 volunteer corps and volunteer activities in partnership with the Donor Engagement Manager

7. Manage community engagement interns and internship process in partnership with Human Resources

II. Plan

1. Lead planning and project management of community engagement events for 75-2500 people

2. Conduct research and development by seeking input from key community organizations on projects

3. Create measurable goals and evaluation strategies for community engagement initiatives

III. Collaborate

1. Provide information related to community engagement activities to Marcom team for use in promotional materials

2. Be the point of contact for Community Advisory Board Members pertaining to community engagement events and planning

3. Attend monthly station ascertainment meetings

4. Assist with budget management as necessary

5. Track and record success metrics of community engagement events

6. Track event sponsorship deliverables in coordination with the corporate underwriting team

7. Model Cascade Public Media’s mission, Core Competencies and Behaviors, and Standard Work Practices at all times


1. Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Community Relations or related field or equivalent experience required

2. Five years of experience in communications, public relations, community organizing or related field required

3. Three years of event planning experience required

4. Intern and/or volunteer management experience required

5. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) required

6. Strong presentation and writing skills required

7. Strong project management skills preferred


1. Ability to work some evenings, weekends, holidays as needed

2. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington State drivers license

3. Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds unassisted

4. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
